Wells Beach Maine Hotels

Wells Beach Maine has hotels that are right on the beach and many that are close by. It's a great area for the whole family and tends to be more affordable than its immediate neighbors of Ogunquit or Kennebunkport.

Wells Beach Maine

One of the great things about Wells is its location. It is very easily accessible from the Maine Turnpike, and makes for a great starting point for lots of road trips in the Southern Maine and New Hampshire areas.

Hotels in Wells Beach Maine are numerous but here I will highlight some of the best. From oceanfront to off the beach, you're sure to find something that will meet your needs.

Right On The Beach

Wells Beach Maine - Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort

Wells Beach Maine - Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort

Open year round (and much cheaper in the off season, by the way), Lafayette's Oceanfront Resort on Mile Road is located right on the beach in Wells, definitely in the heart of the action. With 5 separate buildings, they offer many different types of rooms from suites to efficiencies. Many of the rooms have been updated, but many are still a throw back to the 70's and 80's with paneling on the walls and older style bedspreads. The hotel is very clean and quite comfortable however.

Near restaurants and a snack bar, with its indoor pool and hot tub, you won't want for much while staying at Lafayette's. Rates in the peak season will run you anywhere from $159 to $329. You'll love the short walk to the sand and being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean. Morning walks on the beach are beautiful and relaxing.

Wells Beach Maine - Atlantic Oceanfront Motel

The Atlantic Oceanfront Motel at 37 Atlantic Avenue is located very close to Lafayette's and all the action, also directly on the beach. This is a smaller motel with an outdoor pool. Many of the rooms have balconies and oceanviews, while some face the pool. They offer a variety of rooms and some larger suites that could sleep up to 6, making it good for larger families.

This very clean, family owned and operated hotel is nicely decorated with new beds, linens and flat screen TVs. Rates run from $139 to $269 depending on the type of room and time of week and year that you are staying. Please note that there are no elevators, in case mobility is an issue.

Off The Beach

Wells Beach Maine - USA Inn

A nice, inexpensive option in Wells Beach Maine is the USA Inn right on Route 1. At only $75 to $115 in peak season, this hotel is clean, comfortable and within walking distance to the beach (15 minutes on foot). Conveniently located near the grocery store, restaurants, miniature golf and more, it might be a good one to consider if your looking for a cheap hotel that's still clean and nice. Even though it is right on a busy road, noise isn't an issue.

Wells Beach Maine - Carriage House Cottage

Looking for a different type of accomodation like a cottage? Wells Beach Maine has some really great choices. The Carriage House* located on Route 1 has not only cottages but also a motel and suites to choose from. A great place for families since some of the cottages are 2 bedroom and sleep up to 6 people, this is an affordable option for Wells Beach lodging.

Cottages in the high season are rented by the week, but are very reasonable ($950 - $1150 per week). The property offers lots to do including a heated pool, hot tub, bar-b-que grills, playground, Bocce court, basketball, horseshoes and more.
