Old Orchard Beach Hotels
Oceanside Accomodations, Reasonably Priced
There are SO many Old Orchard Beach hotels to choose from!! As you drive through town, you'll notice that most of the hotels are along the same street (East and West Grand Avenue) or one of small side streets off of the main road that lead to the beach.
This is a vacation town where many of the accomodations are similar - lots of motels and hotels that are small to medium sized and many that are either directly on the ocean or have ocean views, steps to the beach.
From the heart of the action where the Pier and Palace Playland are located, you can go either right or left to find most of the hotels along that stretch. Many are "mom and pop" type establishments and older, where affordability is the focus.
The Best Old Orchard Beach Hotels
Located at 8 Traynor Street, the Echo Motel and Cottages offer lots of options for small and large groups. Their motel is not directly located on the beach, nor does it have ocean views, but they offer several other accomodations that either overlook or sit right on the beach. Exceptionally clean is a great way to describe this establishment, with friendly and accomodating owners and staff. They offer a pool as well as the convenience to the beach.
You'll enjoy the location of the motel and cottages if you like being a bit removed from the heart (and noisiness) of the action, but still within easy access - the Pier is an easy 10 minute walk. In the high season, the motel runs about $140-$165 a night, while the studio, kitchenettes and cottages must be rented by the week. The beautiful cottages (up to 3 bedrooms) are a great choice for families, costing from $1400 to $3200 per week, cheaper in the off season.
Not far from the Echo Motel is The Beach House at 2 Roussin Street. This small hotel with only 9 units sits right on the beach. Units include studios and kitchenettes. They also have a cottage with 3 beds and a full kitchen. This super clean hotel with owners who are right on site offers exceptional views from most rooms and affordable rates. Stay here if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet vacation in Old Orchard Beach where you can stroll out your door and onto the beach without breaking the bank.
If you're looking to stay on the beach, right in the heart of the action, choose the Beachwood Motel. You can watch the weekly fireworks right from your balcony, stroll to the Pier, Palace Playland and the restaurants and clubs. Units here are newly renovated with complete kitchens. With a pool and hot tub, there won't be anything you'll want for here.
During peak season, the Beachwood Motel does require a 3 night minimum and rooms will run from $80 to $249 per night depending on the room and time of year. Because if its location, don't expect total quiet, but if you're the active type who's looking for a fun time while staying at a very nice and clean hotel, this is the one for you.
Another of the best Old Orchard Beach hotels is the Royal Anchor Resort at 203 E Grand Avenue. For $155 - $205 per night during peak season, you can stay right on a beautiful, quiet stretch of Old Orchard Beach, and have a great breakfast included. Located the furthest from the Pier of all the hotels I've highlighted here, this hotel is very clean and offers great ocean views. This area of town is less crowded and relaxing.
Old Orchard Beach hotels are affordable for their location on one of the most gorgeous stretches of beach in Maine. It's a fun town for the whole family and no matter the size of your party, you're sure to find accomodations here that are perfect for your needs. These are just a few of the best hotels in Old Orchard Beach Maine.
