Bar Harbor Maine Lodging
Bed and Breakfast Inns
With so many choices in Bar Harbor Maine lodging, why choose a bed and breakfast inn? If you just love to have that personal feel to your
accommodations, home cooked breakfasts, friendly hosts and a chance to meet other travelers like yourself, maybe the B &
B experience is for you. Bar Harbor has some beautiful inns to choose from.
Inn keepers are truly special people, aren't they? They are warm, inviting, personable and just love to make their guests' stay
as special as possible. They often know everything about their town or city and are quick to provide excellent recommendations for local restaurants and
activities. They take great pride in their homes and just love to share them with interesting people just like you.
Bar Harbor has several outstanding choices for bed and breakfast inns. Topping the list would likely be the Saltair Inn Waterfront Bed and Breakfast
at 121 West St. Located only 3 blocks from downtown and right on Frenchman's Bay, this B &
B was voted Best Oceanfront B &
B by Yankee Magazine.
Relax in an adirondack chair on the beautifully manicured lawn leading to the water's edge. Inn keepers Matt and Kristi will
take care of your every need and make you stay absolutely memorable. The inn is beautifully appointed and clean offering suites and rooms. Summer rates
for suites will be upwards of $350 and rooms will run around $240 per night. Guests agree it is well worth the cost.

Also offering luxury Bar Harbor Maine lodging is the Bass Cottage Inn at 14 The Field. Ocean views will be yours as this B &
B is overlooking the bay. Everything is perfection here from the rooms, common areas, service and amazing gourmet breakfasts. You'll find tea and
coffee always available as well as delicious baked goods (they'll even accommodate gluten free and other special diets!) Enjoy the wine and cheese in the
early evening before going out to dinner.
Location is also wonderful here - just a short walk to all the happenings of downtown, yet still quiet and relaxing. Rooms here will cost from $230 to $370
in the summer.

The Primrose Inn at 73 Mount Desert Street is an lovely old historic inn near downtown Bar Harbor. A short walk will get you to all the restaurants and
shops, making it a very convenient location. Everything here is extremely well taken care of and they pay particular attention to detail to make your
stay as wonderful as possible.
You'll love the Primrose for all the little things - borrow one of the available GPS units to find your way around, maybe you'd like a Kindle to relax
and read a new book - they have that too. They provide tons of guides and information for the area so you'll never be at a loss of where to go and what to do.
And the breakfasts - of course - are outstanding! Rooms here are a bit more affordable than the Saltair and Bass Cottage - it'll run you anywhere from $159
to $249 during the summer, depending on the room.

Two other notable inns that are a little more affordable are the Hearthside B &
B ($130-$175 per night, summer) and Aysgarth Station B &
B ($135-$155 per night, summer). Both are downtown and walking distance to everything you're looking for - restaurants, shops, tours and more. You'll
love the breakfasts at either place and special touches like afternoon tea and cookies. The innkeepers are lovely people that offer gracious hospitality
and personal attention. Jane at Aysgarth Station will even pack you a picnic lunch (for a small fee) to take on your hikes through Acadia National Park!
