With great access to Acadia National Park, the hotel is a bit far from town. You can, however, take the free shuttle which stops at the sister hotel
next door every 30 minutes.

The Bar Harbor Inn at 7 Newport Dr. is a large, old historic, oceanfront inn with a wonderful in-town location. Considered by many to be the best hotel
in Bar Harbor, it offers charm and elegance. It's not a modern or trendy hotel and caters to a more mature crowd.
If you want very upscale accomodations, fine dining in The Reading Room restaurant and a luxurious spa to enhance your relaxing experience here, this is
the place you're looking for.

Ranking right up there with the best of the best of Bar Harbor Maine hotels is The Bayview. Offering large rooms with balconies that overlook
the Atlantic Ocean and Frenchman's Bay, family suites (2 adjoining rooms) and 2 or 3 bedroom townhouses, this is a hotel that gets all the details right.
Set apart from town, it is quiet and relaxing here. They offer a great complimentary breakfast and an outdoor heated pool. You can walk into town
along West St. and enjoy seeing the old estate homes - it'll take you about 15 minutes. Or, the hotel will transport you to and from town in their van.
Rooms here will run you about $300 in the peak season of summer, but most agree it is well worth it!
